Robert Welch Robert Welch Trattoria Bright Cutlery Set, 42 Piece

Originally designed in 1963, the special feature of Trattoria is the weight and tactility of the POM plastic handles which are moulded directly onto the stainless steel. Two stainless steel compression rivets are then added for extra strength. Robert Welch Trattoria is fully guaranteed and dishwasher safe, though handles may need to be wiped with vegetable oil from time to time.

When Robert Welch MBE (1929 – 2000) launched his company in 1955, he did so by setting up his drawing board and a camp bed in a disused workshop in an 18th century silk mill in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. From there, he created some of the most famous products in British domestic design, focusing on highly functional, affordable pieces from cutlery and kitchen utensils, to champagne buckets and candlesticks. Today, two of Welch’s children, Rupert and Alice, continue to design and manufacture from the same location, carrying on their father’s legacy
