Spoons and forks are made using the highest quality 18/10 stainless steel. Knife blades are made from specially hardened stainless steel to provide the finest possible cutting edge. This updated version of the award winning 1962 Alveston design is now available in commemorative packaging. When Robert Welch MBE (1929 – 2000) launched his company in 1955, he did so by setting up his drawing board and a camp bed in a disused workshop in an 18th century silk mill in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. From there, he created some of the most famous products in British domestic design, focusing on highly functional, affordable pieces from cutlery and kitchen utensils, to champagne buckets and candlesticks. Today, two of Welch’s children, Rupert and Alice, continue to design and manufacture from the same location, carrying on their father’s legacy
