The inbuilt slots allow maximum space around the knives, aiding access when in use whilst protecting knife blade edges. Includes six knives from the award-winning Signature knife range. Designed in consultation with professional chefs, these multi-award winning kitchen knives feature fully forged German DIN 1.4116 stainless steel blades with a full tang for extra strength. The Japanese-style blade edges are hand applied at a 15° angle. The handles are made from tactile DuPont™ and ergonomically shaped for comfort, balance and to minimise fatigue. When Robert Welch MBE (1929 – 2000) launched his company in 1955, he did so by setting up his drawing board and a camp bed in a disused workshop in an 18th century silk mill in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. From there, he created some of the most famous products in British domestic design, focusing on highly functional, affordable pieces from cutlery and kitchen utensils, to champagne buckets and candlesticks. Today, two of Welch’s children, Rupert and Alice, continue to design and manufacture from the same location, carrying on their father’s legacy
